The Green Ring» Perm: Improvement of the Yegoshikha River Valley in the Middle Dam area has started

This is the second stage of the works in the river valley. Previously, the contract organization started the development of the site “The Yegoshikha river mouth”.  In addition, the laying of walkways and flooring in the Chernyaevsky forest continues.

Implementation of “The Green Ring” large-scale environmental project continues in Perm. It is aimed at the development of public spaces and ecological revitalization of the Yegoshikha and Danilikha rivers valleys; the improvement of the specially protected natural area “Chernyaevsky Forest” is also under way. The project initiated by the Governor of Perm Region Dmitry Makhonin is one of the priorities in the year of Perm’s 300th anniversary.

Now the next stage of a large-scale project implementation started - improvement in the valley of the Yegoshikha river, in the area of the Middle Dam. There will be two ecological routes, a visit-center, children’s and observation areas. The area of the future eco-route has already been cleared and the pile field is being constructed to build up the flooring. After the work completion   a large-scale landscaping will be done with planting grass, shrubs and trees.

At the same time, work is continuing on the first section – “The Yegoshikha Mouth”. The contract organization arranges observation platforms and ecological trails   near Yegoshikhinsky Cultural and Memorial Park and Shpagina Plant.

– Hiking trails will be supported by screw piles as it has been designed by the project because these are the optimal bearing base which allows to minimize, and in most cases – completely- eliminate earthwork. The path will be covered with metal slatted flooring, characterized by durability, resistance to precipitation, calm design compatible with the natural environment of the route, - said Ekaterina Ovchinnikova, the director of MKU «Gorzelenstroy».

In total, it is planned to develop three sites in the Yegoshikha river valley – “The Yegoshikha Mouth”, “The Middle Dam” and   “The Red Barracks” parks. The project includes ecological trails with comfortable descents and bridges, three visitor centers with a lecture hall and children’s workshops, observation areas, recreation places with an approach to water. Children’s playground and workout   grounds will be built   around residential   areas. The territory will be greened, rain gardens will be created,  lighting and video surveillance for the main routes will be provided.  The deadline for improvement works completion in the valley of the Yegoshika River is November 2024.

Similar objects within the Green Ring are planned in the valley of the Danilikha river. Three parks are planned here - Kamenskikh Square, the Central Market Park, the Serebryansky Park. Special attention is paid to the streets on the boundaries between the natural and built-up area, that will also perform important transport functions developing walking and cycling in the city. The selection of the contractor has begun and work is scheduled to begin in September.
